The Honor Flight Network would like to extend an invitation to Veterans residing in the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and Maryland to attend a three-day Honor Flight trip via Lone Eagle Honor Flight Hub on September 10 to 12, 2021. Veterans of all service eras are welcome to apply, but first preference is given to WWII, Korea, Vietnam Veterans, and veterans of all service eras who are critically ill with only one year left to live. The trip is free of charge for honored veterans and originates at the Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport Hotel. Guardians traveling with the veteran will pay a reduced rate of $250 to offset his or her expenses (the fee is normally $500). My hope is our VSO partners will apply themselves and/or encourage family, neighbors, and friends to apply as an honored veteran or as a volunteer guardian.
The Lone Eagle Honor Flight Hub is administered by the headquarters of the Honor Flight Network and serves Veterans not residing within 130 miles of an existing Honor Flight Hub. The Honor Flight Network is a national network of 130 independent hubs working together to honor our nation’s Veterans with an all-expenses paid trip to the memorials in Washington, DC. Participation in an Honor Flight gives Veterans an opportunity to share the trip with other veterans, to remember friends and comrades lost, and share their stories and experiences with one another. Many Veterans tell us it’s a trip of a lifetime.
