Retirement Program – the DOD is looking at the guide path savings to retirement. They are encouraging military members to dedicate a percentage of salary increases to retirement so they money is saved prior to them seeing the pay raise.
I sat beside the representative from Military Family Advisory Network. She told me that military families are struggling to put food on their tables (literally). That spouses are not eating so their children have food to eat. This is generally for the married couples with children in the E-1 to E-4 range. The concern is that the cost of living allowance is not adjusting to keep up with year over year inflation. Military members are resistant to go off base and see support in the community from food banks. There are some bases with on-base support.
This bothered me and I wanted to share it with you. https://militaryfamilyadvisorynetwork.org/
The DOD is also looking at their “Force Structure,” “Supply vs. Demand,” and “Surge Capability/Capacity.”
